Amazing Race 3: GSN Rerun Thread

Here's a thread for The Amazing Race 3 as it replays on GSN. Since it's all aired before, a whole lot of people know how it ends. Please limit spoilers by only discussing openly things which have already aired on the repeat.

CBS is a pain with their original website, most pages either tell you the winner or at least show you a team's been eliminated. It looks like the team bios pages are spoiler free:

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazin...ios/aaron.shtml

You can click on the images of each team to see their bio, even their audition tape (if you have whatever crazy plugin they require ).

If you are careful and only click on each teams picture you should stay spoiler-free. If you wander elsewhere on the site you might see more than you want though.

So, season 3 is the one where the Guidos came back and this time they won right? It was a very popular victory.

Oh. My. God.

This is the Flo season!

Wild ride coming ahead, from what I've heard...

But...you can clearly see her laying the groundwork for the future. Planting those seeds, as it were. "She's a high-maintenance girl" indeed!

Oh, as I saw the 5 teams get on the second flight, you could almost relabel that the "First Five Teams To Be Philiminated" flight. They should have saved the trouble and kicked them all out tonight! There was a very clear delineation between flight #1 and flight #2.

Oh, and the male twin models...that's the earliest "we should quit" I've ever seen on TAR!

Interesting group...perhaps more interesting than anyone in TAR2, save for ChaChaCha...

Yippee! The only TAR that I couldn't watch from start to finish. I only caught a few episodes.

Darn, and not enough time to make it up there to watch with you.

I coulda sworn you'd mentioned Flo to me, so she must make an impression...

Lee L, I absolutely hope you were not serious with your comment above. Spoilers for anything like that obviously for those of us who might not have seen it. But, no they do not appear to be on this season, and I hope you didn't spoil a whole season for me.

He didn't. He was joking, and probably assumed that it was an outlandish enough thing that people would realize that...

what's with all the sleeveless shirts ?

Soccer Moms can do anything ... NOT !! TWoP had me thinking that they would at least last as few legs as they are in the subtitle of their "Previous Seasons" thread. Nice "We're #10 !!" dance by (can't remember their names).

I thought, and hoped, that the Soccer Moms had potential...but they were in that second plane "doomed for failure" grouping.

The only reason I wasn't sure about Lee's post was because I figured somewhere along the way there was a "best of teams" season, where maybe the Guido's came back and won that season and that maybe Lee was referring to that. The only season of TAR I have seen is 7 so all these are new to me. Sorry for the confusion.

Nope, no "best of" yet.

Oh, I know, I just wanted an idea if Hurricane Flo was coming soon, so I can board up the windows.

I love these reruns...it gives me a chance to *experience* famous teams like Flo and Zach, Tara and Wil, Itchy and Scratchy and the Guidos... names I've only heard referenced in the other TAR seasons' discussion.

Sorry about that.

There has not been an "all-star" season, but I hope they do one soon as it could really work with TAR. There are some personalities that have been in various seasons that are sure to have people watching if only to root against them.

When the GSN reruns have "caught up" to the end of 7, I'm gonna post a poll about who should be on the "All Star" teams. I think they'll do it, eventually...

I suspect the names I mentioned will be in the hopper (on the "root against list").

We must have mentioned Terry & Ian too...

I won't say who says it, but to me one of the funniest lines ever said on a reality show occurs in episode 4 I think.

Eeww.. please, no all stars. I'd be bummed if they took up a slot that could be filled with a new set of contestants.
It would be less onerous if they took the winners from TAR 1-13, but I think that would be unlikely. Instead they'd likely bring back just annoying people. I'd be happy to never see Charla and Mirna or Asshat and his Stepford wife. Based on how I handle seeing Flo again I'm going to decided it I even want to watch TAR6 a second time.

I may very well be in the minority, but I'd much rather have a collection of teams I can root for rather than a bunch to root against. If there were an All-Stars version, I'd bet that the producers would be compelled to bring back "controversial" players. The were already guilty of stunt casting with Rob & Amber, so I'm not so sure about their judgement.

I really like how there's a diverse range of teams for this Race season.

And there's even more than one 'mo, this time (though I think there might be three. Aaron, on the "outcasts" team, definitely has the mannerisms).

One of the female lawyers kinda ticked me off. If she can't handle skydiving in the first leg, how's she gonna compete and hold up when the legs get tougher? And I wonder if the kid overheard them talking and dropped the donkey cart on purpose. The timing was a little too convenient.

I have no real favorite teams yet, but I do like the fact that the twins/models came in last in the first leg, and even acknowledged that if that was how they were going to continue playing the game, that they shouldn't even stay in the game. I initially thought they were going to be like Rob/Brennan from season 1.

And you know they'd get Wil and Tara back.

Could you imagine HWSNBN, Victoria, Wil and Tara together on the same season?

This was the one TAR that ran on a Thursday night, I think. Anyway, it was in conflict with my class so only caught a few episodes here or there when I scheduled assignments for the students. Now that I've seen Flo, I'm not sure that I was right when I mentioned you to her. I was thinking of someone else in another season. I'm eager to see Cruella DeVille emerge, too!

She must really break out coming up here. Unless I missed something, she hasn't yet come out of her shell. If she's not showing her true colors by now, she must really erupt SOON.

And this latest episode...we once again had the stragglers back on the second bus. It's almost like the producers hoped for that bus breakdown... "These are the teams that should just go home NOW."

And this is one reason I vacillate on the prospect of an "All-Stars" season, which the producers reportedly do not want.

I NEVER want to see HWSNBN again. Colin and Christie would NOT be entertaining. The Guidos should just disappear (you know they'd do it again), and if I wanted to see an 8 year old run around and pout, I'd turn on Nickelodeon instead of watching Wil again.

This season looks like it might be more interesting once all those "second teamers" get Philiminated, one by one. "T-n-T" tonight were one of the lamer teams. And "The Doublemint Twins" have GOT to go...
