Anyone get their $299 HD Tivo installed yet?

I was just wondering if anyone got a Monday installation from this deal and if there were any surprises. D* is saying it will be new, but a refurb wouldn't surprise me. My install is scheduled for Friday AM.

I ordered on Saturday and got a Sunday morning install (16 hours later).

No issues whatso ever. From what I can tell, it was a new unit.

Me too. I don't know about others, but for me, this whole thing has Saturday written all over it.

Ordered mine yesterday, they had Wednesday and Friday open, I won't be off alert until after Wednesday so I'll run the wires Thursday and be ready to go on Friday.

Ordered today. Was told the earliest they could install was September 5th. Rep said that had to be a mistake. Emailing local installer to see if date can be moved up.

evil?? why did you pay $649 ?? when everyone else started with the $299 deal and then got various credits and rebates and program deductions.

and didn't you have an initial purchase cost to the hd receiver you sold on ebay?
i mean it's a good deal no matter......

just heard ads last couple days for local dtv contract installers, so hope they get all you guys hooked up with HDTV hr10-250 soon, congrats, you will love it.

Did you have a DVR before this one?

If you did have a DVR before thus did your monthly DVR fee increase or where you grandfathered at $4.99?

I understand the new fee is $5.99.

Sherman67 - I am with you. Also live in Mont Co and was told Sept 5 was the soonest they could install. I told them that was unacceptable and they called me back later and said the best they could do was Aug 30. I said okay and then called D* and told them about the delay. They didn't seem to care one way or the other and said that this was their busiest time of the year blah blah blah. Sounds like this is the only place in the country where its the busiest time of the year. Vacations?? Something sounds fishy here.

I didn't want to push too hard since there is no way I want to go back on this deal. However, since I already have an oval dish working and getting HD I could literally unplug the coax from the old HTL-HD and plug it into the new one. Duh. OTOH they are going to put in a 4x8 multi-switch so I can't say too much on that count either.

Frustrating. Anyone have any ideas for us?

My parents live in Mont CO also and the soonest they could get was a sept 6 install. There must only be one installation company and you have to thing about how many new house have gone up in Mont. Co this summer. They probably have been busy all summer.

Im glad you are excited about the deal you got, however i don't think you need to post it in so many places. I think this is the third forum that it is in.

Wait a day and call again. Or wait an hour. Some CSR's don't know/can't do the deal. When they offer it to you for $599, ask if there is a lower price or $299 deal. If they say no, tell them thanks but no thanks and call again. Sooner or later you'll stumble on the correct CSR. Use the customer retention number - 800-600-8977.

Was scheduled to have mine installed this afternoon. Installer just called to tell me that they don't have any of the HD Tivos in stock. He gave me a number to call to re-schedule. The lady re-scheduled me for tomorrow? Maybe they'll get one in overnight.
