For space invaders, do you just have to keep shooting the leading row and never let it hit??

Don't be so sure... Tetris isn't really my game... I just played my match, and I think I pretty well sucked...

But now we know.

I got a PM saying you had challenged me, as well as an email notifcation from the arcade itself (that's an option in each user's settings).

When I go to the arcade, I can accept the challenge, then the game loads, and I get to play. I didn't notice my score when the game ended. It just posted it somewhere, and when you play your game, I guess we'll both see an announcement of who won.

I'm glad it's asynchronous.

I got a PM that you had accepted my challenge and played your game, but it didn't tell me your score until I completed my game. I won. But now we know how it works.

I suck at all of the other games, though. Tetris is my only "good" game, but I'll never beat edhara's score.

Yeah, I wonder how long it took him to post 2.6 million.

I'm not sure the "Length" timers are working. I'd seen some other odd values before, but there's no way (I don't think) that he got 2.6 mil in 226 seconds.

It reminded me of the 80's, going into the arcade (back when the high scores erased when the machines were powered down), and owning the whole board... Making the high score board spell out a long 30-letter message with all 10 sets of initials...

Pulled that off a couple times on Tempest.

Good stuff.

There really needs to be a 'pause' option in these games..... how else can I beat someones score while I'm at work?!?

Thats why before i requested games that are turn based or something where you don't even need a pause

(tetris does have a pause though)

As I said in my comment (5th place) I could've gone on longer, but got lazy at end... When I have more time, I'm going for the Champ score there.

But, a 'Pause' would help.

Are people going to be asking us to be banned from playing Tetris soon?

Too many of us are too close to your score. You're going down. You're going down SOON, and you're going down HARD.

You're right. Somebody came and blew my high score away. Oops.. that was me!

See, I'm not noble like edhara, who lets everyone else know how out classed they are by his godlike performance. I'm going to toy with you..

Heh-heh... Nice...

Hey... I just noticed that Dave must have taken the suggestion out there somewhere to limit users to one appearance per high score chart...

I came. I played. I became the champion!!!!!

BRING IT!

And if someone beats me. I will play again until I become the new champion. I will hold my spot on top.

You're up again NatasNJ.

I've done this before, and someone's got to stop eventually... It wasn't me the last time I did it either

Hey, we didn't call it "New England" for nothing, guv'nah! We took all your stuff and made it better!

(Actually, I was referring to Tim Wakefield, a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox)

Actually, you can pause Space Invaders if you need to. Just press the P key to pause the game, and press P again to resume.

We have these games on one of the other boards I frequent, and there I'm the current Space Invaders champ, with over 261,000 points. Hopefully soon I'll be the top scorer here too...

Trebor: What speed do you play snake on? I was playing at work speed but got my best score ever on slug. (current record) Slug is easy to last a lot longer but very tough to get a lot of points per piece.

I went to another website and saw their snake records in the 8000-9000 range. NO IDEA how to break 4000.. Can't imagine doubling it..
