My vote's gotta go to option 2, then. Sorry!

I'm just sayin'.

Did you really think I would just bring ONE item?

But skipping BT's? Bryan, my friend... that's just unfathomable.

One thing to keep in mind... Stan and I made 48 badges. Assuming that all of the people that had a badge made are coming to the movie, that's a whole lot of seats to save.

Since we'd be able to get reservations, this is probably the "best" idea, at least IMHO. It's a straight shot up the Tollway from Mia's, and would only take us ~20 minutes to get there.

2) We can do Mia's Brisket Tacos at 11:00am. Check out of Mia's at 12:45pm, and drive up to the Cinemark for the 1:55pm showing.

So, pick your option here, folks. I'm leaning very strongly towards option 1 but want to give folks a chance to debate if they so prefer. I'm not too worried about the length of time at Mia's Brisket Tacos.. the service is pretty quick, and we'll spend most of our time socializing at the Shindig in the evening anyway.

I like option 1. SMG is very close to home. I'm not really into this movie much, so the A/V quality won't matter much to me.

I don't think I can swing Mia's at 11:00. The itinerary is jam packed all weekend, and I need some time to prepare food for Saturday night. Really, not a big deal. I've been to Mia's many times and I obviously have unlimited opportunities to go again.

If it's that many, I'll probably need some help saving seats. And maybe wouldn't be able to 'guarantee' them.

And if it really is that many people going to the movie, you'd better get there as soon as possible. Mia's ain't exactly close to Legacy.

While I'm into the movie, I'm more interested in seeing it with friends and laughing, ooo-ing, and oh!-ing than picking it apart for sound and light detail.

I'll be seeing it more than once, so I'd rather have a "community" feel for this one, then see it after a couple weeks in a "better theater" when the "kiddies" tire of the flick...

Yeah.. I hear ya. Also, getting a group reservation seems ideal. Bryan won't have to spill anyone's blood to save us some seats. Besides, the true fans have already seen the movie several times, haven't they? I think they can put up with less than optimal conditions one time.

To be fair, about 5 or 6 of those of those are friends of the family who will only be at the Shindig, and may not attend the movie.

I promise to be there early to help you hold seats, Bryan.

Also, Mystery Guests 2 and 3 have both chimed in, and voted for the Legacy. Counting up to TiVo_Guy_here's vote, that places the Legacy and SMG almost neck and neck.

I'm going to give y'all a few hours to decide on what you'd prefer, and then we can go from there. One way or another, ticket information will be announced later tonight.

Sounds like we might need a poll.

Persoanlly I'm thinking that SMG would be a great pic if people don't care about the movie itself being top notch. It would be great for our group. And I'll go on Friday with folks that are in town and up for it, so that suits me.

But I must say again, if you want to see this movie in the best possible theater, SMG isn't it.

In my experience, there are usually fewer kids at the Studio Movie Grill movies (for non-kids movies). Kids are certainly welcome with their parents, but because the theater typically caters more towards adults, and far less to children, it's not often you have to deal with them.

That's not to say kids aren't welcome. Just that we're less inclined to run into them.

Just created the Serenity location poll for folks to vote on their preferred location. Please vote before 8pm tonight so we can get ticket information out to folks ASAP.

I took off work Friday so I would like to do the midnight showing if that is still out there. This is in addition to all the other activities.

I'm up for either the midnight or sometime on Friday.

Seems like doing it during the day Friday would give us a less crowded theater than a midnight showing.

Got my tshirt in the mail today from Cafe Press.

Now I just need my shiny shirt to arrive. Got a confirmation today that it shipped. It's unlikely it'll make it in time, but I'm crossing my fingers!! =)

OK gang, the Cinemark Legacy is our official theater for Serenity.

You can buy tickets online at this link. That link should take you right to the Saturday, October 1st listing. Just click on the "1:55pm" listing for Serenity, and it should take you right to the purchase page.

Please make sure, when you are checking out, that you are buying tickets for Saturday, October 1st for 1:55pm showing of Serenity at the Cinemark Legacy.

You'll be able to get into theater through one of two methods.

1) Write your confirmation number down, and punch that number in at the ticket kiosk. The kiosk will print out your tickets.

2) Print out your confirmation number with barcode, and the ticket usher will just scan your barcode at the door. (obviously, the preferred method).

Cheers, gang!
