Anyone a football fan? We can watch some football before the dinner if anyone is interested, the ESPN Zone is right there... Or we can uh, go to Flashdancers!

Excellent point. DTUT is not a particularly large place, but then, it isn't all that small either. On a Saturday, though, they could be pretty crowded. I guess I didn't think of that. Well, whatever. We'll just have to start throwin' people out!

Now that you mention it, what's the count on the size of our group up to?

Here’s a recap of shirt orders I have. I am sorry to say the screen printer only made large and extra large sizes this time, so I have substituted the sizes requested to what we have available.

I can’t carry extra shirts so please speak up if you are coming and I do not have you on this list.

These are high quality 100% soft-combed cotton shirts with four color HD, DIRECTV and TiVo logos imprinted over the left chest. They are my gift to everyone.

I'm taking the 4:30 pm bus from Verona and getting to the Port Authority around 5:30. From there I'll just walk over to Heartland and sit at the bar until the rest of you arrive.

After dinner, I'll probably just head straight home. I've got buses at 8:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m., and 10:45 p.m.

The zone would be very crowded on Saturday afternoon. It might be difficult to find someone in that place, unless you have a specific location in mind. Now Spanky's on 43 Street is a nice small place to catch a game. Plus they have great Ribs there.

There's usually a good long line outside waiting to get in. And it's a tough crowd. On a rainy Saturday, probably not where you want to be.

You'd think the first thought about a museum by people on a TiVo forum might be something related, like the Museum of Television and Radio.

The Museum of Television and Radio is actually a pretty cool place, they let visitors pick programs from their collection and watch them in these little booths. Kind of small as far as muesuems go though.

$40; free ended 9/30. Well, maybe not... even though it says $40, it actually doesn't charge you when you follow through on registration.

I'll be arriving to Penn Station around 4:30. If others are getting into Penn around that time I can meet up there, or more likely, I'll just wander to the restaurant and wait for you all there.

I'll have to catch a train after dinner back home probably -- there's a 9:15 or a 10:30 that basically are my only choices back.

See you all tomorrow.

Any nyny523, I'll have a tivo hat to help me be a bit more recognizable, but I do look like my avatar.

18? Hmm..

Well, I called and asked. While they don't take reservations, a group of a dozen (I rounded down because I figured not everyone would go) would not be turned away. We may have to stand awhile we wait for tables to open up, but whatever.

The best bet would be to seize the area up front (where a lot of seats face one another) or the "private room" in the center (which is anything but private or a room). It's actually just an area which is somewhat sectioned off from the rest of the place by curtains, which are open anyway, but there nonetheless.

Even though those two places would be coolest for a group, there's a whole lot of tables in the back. There would be more than enough seating for all if we were a little patient.

Plus - and I just thought of this now! - the place has free WiFi. I'm not saying we have to go or anything. Seriously, whatever everyone does, I'll follow. But, yeah, if there's free WiFi, damn right I'll use that in attempts to lure this group.

While the Museum of Natural History is indeed interesting, I suppose, I've also been like a zillion times on field trips. Far be it from me to dictate where the out-of-towners might prefer going, though. However...

...this really does sound much more fitting. I would definitely be up for a trip here, even if for no reason other than the sheer appropriateness.

ETA: I asked theinstagator (who I suppose could just come post here herself, huh?) and she voted for the TV museum too.

Wow, so....umm...I should have posted here long ago. I've been missing out on all sorts of stuff.

As pigonthewing said, I'm all for the Museum of Television and Radio. That would be awesome. DTUT would be awesome too. It's a great place to chill an converse. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. It'll be great to meet all of you. See you soon.

For now, the reservation at the restaurant is in my name. But, as soon as we get there tomorrow, I'm going to tell who ever is at the door, that people might be looking for the Tivo group. So, if you say that, they should know where to find us.
