I'm going to aim for 7:00-7:30ish. Is that going to work?

That works for me. Shall we say 7:30 at the restaurant? That should allow time for traffic and/or getting lost.

I'm not entirely sure I can get all the way from downtown to the Beaches by 7:30, but I shouldn't be TOO much beyond that, assuming there's no server crash or something right at 5:30.

So, sure, lets go for it, but don't be surprised if I'm a couple minutes late.

Is this the kind of place we need reservations?

I called and the guy said that Friday night in particular was looking to be very busy, so I made a reservation for 7:45. That will give you a few extra traffic minutes and if we're early, we'll have a drink.

Heh. You are just SO much more organized than we are. I LIVE in this town, but you are the one making the phone calls and organizing things.

Mad skills you got there. Way cool of you, too.

I organize much more complicated endeavors all day long. Dinner I can plan.

Well, I was about to call, but... I don't have to!

Thanks for handling the logistics. I'm excited to see you both a week from today!

Wouldn't it be 2 weeks from today? A week from today is the 11th. I thought you weren't getting here until the 14th? The Friday dinner would be on the 18th.

Or so I thought.

Yes, you're right. 2 weeks from today. I'm an idiot who is having a crappy day, and apparently don't even know what date this is.

Yes, Friday, 11/18. 14 days from now.

OK, I don't know about y'all, but I made the reservation for the 18th, so that's when I'll be there.

Is Friday the only night you are free while you are here, sschwart?

Did you want to arrange something else for another night, or just play it by ear?

I imagine I'm free every night that I'm there. I'm not positive what time class gets out, but after that I've got nothing to do. What's your schedule like? Perhaps Tuesday or Wednesday?

Wednesday is particularly good for me. One of my WoW teammates has "date night" and can't play that night.

I work downtown, which is roughly half-way between the Airport and where I live, so it'd be easy to meet up after work somewhere.

I am SO bored at work today. Skip out on your Very Important Training Class and come entertain me, ok?

There's only 5 of us in the class. I think I'd be missed.

Plus, I've just brought myself to their attention by solving their very difficult puzzle in near record time. Just a couple minutes shy of the fastest record time*. So, they'd probably notice my absence.

* Record was 39 minutes. I took 41.

A little late for this, but New Orleans is 546 miles and Miami is only 350 miles. Jacksonville to Miami is almost the same distance as Jacksonville to Pensacola, the far end of the state in the other direction.

But more importantly I can leave in a couple minutes, so I'll be headed towards the beach!

Man, I look kind of like the Joker in that picture!

Regardless, I had a perfectly marvelous night tonight with sschwart and Anubis and I'm sorry it had to end. Good time, good people, good conversation.

And they even laughed at some of my jokes!

I was laughing at the faces Anubis was making in response to your jokes

Thanks to Anubis and Ereth for a great night out in Jacksonville. It flew by, and I feel really bad that Anubis is going to be on the road driving home for a few hours yet. I really appreciate you driving all the way!

There are very few pictures from tonight, and I promised that Anubis had final say over whether a photo got posted or not, so y'all just have to wait until I get the thumbs up or down before I post them

Dinner was excellent, guys. I didn't mind the drive at all. Getting home at 3:30 a.m. pretty much sucked, but I still managed to get up and get to work. Thanks for sitting through Harry Potter for me, Ereth.

Anytime. I may not have been a big fan of the movie, but I'm most definitely a big fan of the company.

OMG. I was so tired this morning... I just realized I completely forgot to tell everyone what an awesome dancer sschwart is! That was one of the highlights of the evening.

To anybody who might actually be reading this, sschwart IS actually quite a dancer, with actual training and everything. He knows what he's doing on the dance floor and he and Anubis looked quite good out there dancing while I sat behind using my Treo to look up movie times.

I think there might be a lesson there somewhere...
