I really like the way the theme of the episode ("...and Found") tied into all the stories... about not finding something until you stop looking so hard.
The flashback where Sun had been looking (forced at least) for a husband, and then just ran into Jin. Michael finally conceding that his quest is not useful. Kate and Sun spotting the ring, which after digging up the bottle was almost an afterthought.
Locke's conversation with Sun:
Locke: I'm not lost anymore.
Sun: How did you do that?
Locke: The same way anything lost gets found...I stopped looking.

Nothing really happened in this episode to advance the story, it was one of those filler episodes, but I still liked it. It had a kind of a feel-good feeling with everyone finding what they were looking for, Sawyer making nice (kind of) with Ana Lucia, Michael and Jin befriending Mr. Eko, Locke giving sage advice, etc.
My wife looked at Sun's white pants and said, "How in the world are her pants still clean after all this time?"
I originally couldn't understand why the show was off for two weeks. Week one is obvious because of the World Series and because sweeps is coming up. However, I was thinking sweeps started on Oct. 27 so it would end the night before Thanksgiving. However, I just looked it up and sweeps actually starts on Nov. 3 so that's why no new eps for three weeks. You'll see most shows taking the next couple of weeks off for this reason.
"You don't own a TV? What's all your furniture pointed at?" Joey Tribbiani
I also thought that Jin said "you're important" to Michael. And it made sense to me, too -- he was saying that Michael should not go on his fruitless quest because that would be sacrificing himself, and the group needed him to help them survive. He was too important to waste. (I don't much care which it is, but that is what I thought I heard.)
I also thought I saw the same legs go by a couple times.
I was completely disappointed in this episode. Seriously, waste of my time.
I enjoyed it. Sure, not much really happened. But FF'ing through the commericals it was only 45 minutes. Spending a lousy 45 minutes getting to know the new 'tail' people a little better and watching some Sun/Jim backstory is fine in my book.
It could be looked at as dumb if he didn't at least try, too. He does seem to know that what he's doing is dangerous: he told Jin to go away when they ran into each other at the stream.
Sawyer not joining Jin (and Michael) when he had the opportunity.
At least Sawyer didn't get sucker punched this week. In "The O.C.", Ryan seems to throw a punch every week. in "Lost", Sawyer seems to *take* a punch everyweek. I figure Sawyer and the new group will get back to old group and their will be a big confrontation about why he's there but not Jin or Michael.
Others don't leave tracks, but walked by barefoot. Huh?
They did seem to be walking slowly and quietly. Unlike Michael who's likely just crashing through and stomping around. I'd guess they don't leave zero trace, but that they also don't leave a blatant trace either.
How do both groups independently know to call them others? Danielle visit everyone?
Have the second group actually used the term? I remember Jin asking Eko about noises or something: "the Others?" Eko said "yes", but that could just be that when Jin used the term, he understood what he meant, not that he uses it to.
I also thought it was a little slow. I guess they just like to fall back and give some backstory to set things up for the next few weeks from time to time.
I called the ring right away, it was the obvious place for it.
I liked seeing the back story of Jin and Sun. I am starting to agree with the camp that says Jin understands english based on his reactions on the island. At the end of the show he even seemed to be speaking a little more, but he could just be learning.
The whole footprints thing was a littel wierd except maybe they walk in a straight line and overlap their prints so it does not leave much to go on, unlike the boot prints. It would still be trackable.
