I wonder if the Hotel has a brunch, and how good it is. I'm at the mercy of Mike and Nyny for brunch. Where they go, I mooch.

As long as I'm awake in the mornin', I'm good for brunch. I can probably provide transportation, but any more than 1 person is gonna be a tight fit.

Remember where you're crashing? Remember the small children? You'll be awake. Whether you're happy, that cannot be assessed at this time.

I am at the same mercy as you are! But we gotta eat, right? So I would guess we'll brunch it before hitting the road....

Paging Mike2001....Mike2001, please come to the brunch thread!

If you need a ride anywhere, just let me know. I'm renting a car, and am looking for an excuse to get rid of Joules1111.

(Just kidding Julie! ). Seriously, I assume I have at least 3 more seats.

Hey! You just told me I shouldn't rent a car because you "had my back". Now this. Et tu Brutus?

Close, but I think his exact words were "had you from behind".. Not quit the same thing.

Your staying at the courtyard right? I wouldn't expect much there, courtyards aren't usually full service hotels.

I called them and they seemed mystified at the concept of a brunch. Although they do have a complete breakfast buffet.

This is a very nice offer (as long as Joules doesn't get bumped!). But as I need Mike to get back to NY, if he chooses to skip the brunch, I am at his mercy (unless you and Joules wanna drive me home! )

Man. And I was all excited about a road trip.

It's ok, if we all buy Mike2001 drinks for Saturday night he'll be in no mood to wake up at the crack of dawn and hit the road. That means the other kids are free to come to brunch.

Ok.. Laura called Four and Twenty and they're closed 1/1-1/19 so that's out. I was afraid they would be being a smaller place. I'll call some of the other places (Cracker Barel, Golden Coral, Bob Evans, Shoney's, Old Country, and Steak Masters (the brazillian place) and figure out which will be doing brunch that day. Then we can do a poll.

Ok... Here are the details:

Golden Coral - $10.00/person buffet - no "offical" reservations / earlier the better
Cracker Barrel - menu pricing
IHOP - menu pricing - no reservations
Steak Masters - menu pricing (*) - no reservations but not usually busy at brunch - opens 11:30
Old Country Buffet - $7.50 before 11:30, $10.50 after - no reservations

(*) Laura said they were really confused when asked about the brunch buffet so I'm going to take them off the list. We haven't been there in a while and they changed owners recently so no need to take chances and muck it up.

Poll added- closes in a week.

Oh, and I think the DC locals should try to do a weekend brunch at Four and Twenty plus a hike/walk up in the mountains one weekend in '06.

I'd go for GC or CB as first choice, with OCB second. IHOP is really a place you only go when everything else is closed.

Respectfully, you're confusing IHOP with Waffle House.

Or Dennys, which is where you go at 3 a.m. when you're incredibly wasted but still don't want the night to end.

Not the awful Waffle (though you're weird ifyou've never been there drunk at some point), but not liking IHOP? Come on! Nutters....

I don't drink, but I have been to WH, hence the reason I won't go there anymore. And I never said I didn't like IHOP. Jus' that it's the place to go to when everythin' else is closed. When other things are open, I prefer them over IHOP.

I am not voting, as I don't know any of these places. But in consideration of the hangovers many of us will be sporting, anyplace serving protein, carbs and grease will be perfect!

That, to me, sounds like the Cracker Barrel's biscuits and sausage gravy.

Clearly you have never been to some of the IHOP restaurants in the seedier parts of Philadelphia. Sometimes it's not about the menu, it's about the state of inebriation of the other clientele.
