Dallas Folks - Harry Potter 4 in IMAX?

OK, I know a few of us talked about this at the Ekims mini-meet at Snuffers, but wanted to get a thread out to (A) let everyone else know, and (B) get things organized.

Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire showtimes for the Cinemark IMAX have been released for the opening week. I know we talked about a Saturday showing for opening weekend, so here are the showtimes for Saturday November 19th (opening weekend)

9:50am 2:20pm 6:35pm 9:45pm

The 2:20 looks nice, and I could probably convince some of the family to come with me as well.

So, who's game? What time should we go?

Sorry to say, this is one I *definitely* won't be making. If we do anything before or after, I'll be there, but I'm skipping the movie.

Snob.

I like the mid afternoon time, we could get some lunch then head over.

This is the Cinemark IMAX Webb Chapel, located at the intersection of LBJ Freeway and Webb Chapel.

OK gang... let's go ahead and lock down Saturday, November 19th at 2:20 PM as our Harry Potter IMAX screening, since everyone's good with the time/date.

Here's a link to by tickets from. It should take you directly to the page to buy tickets for November 19th for the Cinemark IMAX at Webb Chapel. Just make sure you have the right date (it should automatically be set to the 19th, but it never hurts to be safe).

Someone mentioned meeting up beforehand. There's a Taco Cabana across the street from the theater, so we can always meet up there and grab some vittles before the movie... or afterwards, if folks would rather do that. That's just a suggestion, feel free to throw out others. If we do something afterwards, we could always head over to Restaurant Row or somewhere in Addison.

I have nothing to add but I wanted to say I hate you people who have commercial IMAX theaters. It's not fair! I live in DC and all we get are freaking nature films at the Museums... :-(

Harry Potter IMAX is being shown in Philadelphia, PA and Hampton, VA. Not DC, but a lot closer than Orem, UT or Olathe, KS.

I'm in. I purchased 4 tickets. One for my husband and I (Fort Worth), one for a friend from Houston and one for a friend from Dallas. We'll see you there.

For those of you who don't know, Judi is the poor woman that has to share an office with me. She's more lurker than poster here, but comes to Happy Hour for a smile when she needs it.

Not that we access TCF at work, of course.

I got my ticket last week and have sent my friend Jason the link in case he wants to join us.

Any ideas for a place to meet for lunch yet?

None so far, though I did throw out a few suggestions.

Dang, no tickets available!

I waited too long and it bit me this time. Oh well.

Unless somebody bought an extra?

Edit: It looks like there are seats for the non-IMAX show at 2:30. Hmmm, I might do that if nobody has an extra.

OK, any suggestions for a group gathering pre/post movie on Saturday?

There's a Taco Cabana across the street from the theater, so we could park our cars at the theater and walk across the street to it. There's an iHop just down the street from the theater. And if you don't mind driving a good 3 miles, there's all the restaurant row stuff at 35 and Northwest Highway (like Dave & Busters, Olive Garden, Humperdinks, Chili's, Red Lobster, and Genghis Grill off the top of my head).

If anyone has a pair of spare tickets, please let me know and I can find you a good home for them. A home with lots of room for them to run around and play with other movie tickets.

BTW.... what do folks think about doing a Taco Cabana gathering after the movie, as opposed to before? That way we wouldn't be rushed, and would be able to spend as much or as little time there as we wanted.

Taco Cabana after is fine, or if you have another suggestion we can leisurely drive to AFTER the movie (since we'll have plenty of time). Can you tell Taco Cabana ain't my favorite (but it'll do)?

OK, I guess I'm taken care of ticket-wise. But I hear that there is a need for one more ticket. So if anybody still has an extra let Skittles know.

Oh, Taco Cabana after sounds good to me. Martin and I have a Geocaching breakfast to go to that morning not too far away. I don't know about him, but I'll eat lots of breakfast at Golden Corral that morning, so after is probably better.

OK, well, like I said, there are lots of other places nearby. There's Dave & Busters, Olive Garden, Chili's, Humperdink's, Genghis Grill, Jason's Deli, and a few other places near Restaurant Row. Or we could head into Addison and do Snuffers, Hooters, etc.

So just start naming off places.

Genghis Grill? I like the sound of that. I've never heard of it so I'll have to say I'd give it a try.

It's a Mongolian BBQ type place. Similar to that one little area at Merryland where the guy cooks what you pick out. But WAY more expensive than Merryland.

I'll probably get there a little before 1pm. Since the show is sold out, I figure there'll be a lot of fun with the line game.
