I think the Hilton is too far away from everything. How's their pool?

On Hotels.com, Both TI and Alladin are 89.00/night for the 26th-30th (By far the most popular date in the poll as I write this). They are right on the center of the strip. The Luxor is down at the South end of the strip, but is close to a few other great places and is only $85/night.

Those three seem to be in the ballpark location and price-wise.

Yeah, it's nice to have everyone at one place. That's what we should shoot for. But I don't think we should sign anyone's life away. We should pick a place and designated Peeps Central, and if people don't want to stay there, fine! They can book a room someplace else and join in some of the planned events.

Vegas is Vegas... whereever we stay we'll inevitably end up cabbing it somewhere. We should find a hotel that's is nice and has everything we need it to have (meeting room, public bar/space to meet and greet, rooms that don't have roaches, and a couple of good restaurants... and all of the places we've thrown out so far meet those criteria). I think location is totally secondary.

Personally, my vote is the Luxor. It'd be cool to stay inside of a pyramid. Good energy vibes.

The only other place I'd LOVE to stay is the Hard Rock, but it's too off the beaten path and I haven't seen prices yet. I'm sure they're outrageous. But the place is very nice. And I won alot of money there when I last was in Vegas (if you consider $200 on nickle slots alot).

I think the hotel's know what they're doing, so if TI is $89 for that week, and every other week surrounding it is more, than I'm assuming that it's a pretty slow week.

Maybe it's possible to get a better rate, with no guaranteed amount of rooms because of that.

Otherwise, it doesn't seem like it is going to be a big deal to get rooms.

One possible hitch is that now this is the week that the World Series Of Poker starts.

Last year when it started the first week of June it seemed like the hotel rooms were more expensive. Maybe that's just because the first week of June is more expensive than the last week.

Whoops, one more thing on that. Last year the poker site pokerstars had 1000+ people win entries to the World Series of Poker and a big chunk of those people stayed at TI for free. They may be blocking off a few hundred rooms or more in the next few months.

The Alladin has some nice views of the Bellagio which can be a bonus.

I love the Aladdin. I've stayed there before and was very happy with my total experience there. I just don't know how the take over by Planet Hollywood would be affecting them.

Do you get a discount on the room if you bring your own?

TC-Con without Indy is NOT TC-Con.

Just a timing issue this year, unfortunately. We'll see, though.

The TI's pool is tiny and will disappoint poolgoers. On the other hand, southern strip view rooms on upper floors have FANTASTIC strip views, and TI is surrounded by three of the nicest resorts in Vegas (The Wynn, The Venetian, and The Mirage) and two of the best poker rooms (The Wynn and The Mirage).

The Flamingo's pool area is very nice, and the hotel's location is excellent, affording easy access to just about everything by walking or taking the monorail. On the other hand, I doubt you get much of a view at the Flamingo unless you can finagle a Bellagio fountain view.

So can I make a reservation at TI yet?

I've actually stayed at TI for a couple nights back in 1999. My parents were paying though.

Why does everything that comes out my mouth seem naughty to you all? I just meant that if I had to get down on my knees and take one for the team in order to get Indy to come to the Con then I was more than willing to beg.

Geez.
