  • remove all the place holders and actually until you actually write something take this down..... how bad can "Another Review of R15" be if you are not first
  • Either contribute or don't post. Anyone reading all your posts would find little content worthwhile, lots of blather and dribble.
  • clasicsat (sic) you really are being foolish now.
  • You (sic) logic and business sense is pathetic.

The number of personal insults and idiotic statements isn't much different than the number of posts. And I didn't list all the misspellings and grammar mistakes, which is an even longer list.

As far as any of us should be concerned this is EARLS post and he has the right to set it up any way he chooses. The place holders are a super idea. Look how many responses there are all ready before he even had a chance to review. Sorry I am adding to the post count, but this had to be said. The OP of a thread should have the right to set it up his or her own way if possible. And Ebonovic is setting it up for ease of reading the review. Definatly deserves

Edit. Sorry Earl i have been calling you Ebovonic. I changed these posts but i dont have the time to edit all of them!! Btw what is an Ebonovic?

More people are tuned into this tube than the results of any presidential election.

I just can't stop hitting my refresh button.

How many DIRECTV folks would you think are tuned in as well?

Good job on the placeholders at the top of the thread!

Robert, WTH are you doing watching this thread? You have a couple hundred of these things! SURELY you have activated one? If I were you, I would have had this thing examined inside and out before Earl's ever even got out of the state!

Oh, give me a BREAK. It's GAME DAY, BABY! You bet your ass they are watching, and it's nothing but PRIDE at stake. The people who are affected at all and care at all about the bottom line, BELIEVE ME, are not watching this thread.

The DirecTV people watching are just hoping to discover their fancy new DVR is secure. They're looking for the hacking side -- not "hacking" in the theft sense, but "hacking" in the add-a-feature sense.

You better check the spelling of "inside" on some of your photos.

I am most looking forward to the out of the box experience, specifically, will there be a required software download before it is functional...

True, many are very concerned about our acceptance of the new DVR platform, but many are product managers and engineers that are holding their breath even more than the business folks.

Just as a stupid piece of triva, its interesting how they are re-using the DirecTV Plus brand. RCA receivers (IIRC, these are the receivers I have) where among the first to receive this name (I also have a DirecTV Plus dual LNB dish). These receivers included the WINK service (and supported ParaTodos).

I guess its just nerdy that my next DVR is going to match the name on my dish :P
As for the actual DVR, so far so good. Its looking sexy from these pictures. Im excited for what features it has to come. I was looking around online and if I am NOT mistaken, the new remote supports both IR and RF. The remote in the box is the RC24, with the format button (introduced on the H10, IIRC). My source, sect.6.

It might be good to look into.

Heh, I was thinking about him voiding the warranty as well. I find it interesting having USB on the front side of the box.

Back side USB is for permanent connections, have them out of the way and safe. USB on the front is for temporary connections.

I know! I noticed that, too. I have two RCA DirecTV Plus receivers in my closet. As lame as the Wink stuff was, I actually used the crap out of it back in the day. From what I've seen of the new interactive stuff (on the NDS website), I think I will REALY get some use out of that. Now, the interactive on my UTV (webTV) NOT SO MUCH. Having to dial up to get interactive features is not appealing.

Actually, the remote in the box is the RC23. It's right there in the picture. I assume this is the IR-only one? Good find, though.
