Very cool. I especially like the comparison of Claire's boyfriend's art and the art in Michael's apartment to the mural. Of course, that could just mean there is an artist on staff that's doing all of the artwork we've seen.

Most of the other survivors, and most of us audience members, initially, assumed Locke was some sort of great outdoorsman, and/or had a military background, based on his apparent abilities and knowledge. In his flashbacks we learn he was an introverted nerd/wimp with obsessiveness issues in the "real world", even before he lost the use of his legs. (The obsessiveness issues do eventually become apparent on the island, however.)

So, the writers might have a similar surprise in store for us when they reveal some Ana-Lucia background.

Just a thought...

I don't think any of that is in question. But like Locke, I am assuming that we will find out that there is some explanation for her proficiency.

I can't remember the last time I saw a character on TV that didn't know how to use a gun Charlie's a drug-accict rock star and he manged to shot Ethan just fine!

Can someone post the screencap of the car? My employer's filtering software blocks that site for some reason.

What are the writers/director trying to show us here? Anything? The guy dragging himself around like a wounded puppy is too strange to not be planted for our discussion.

Don't know if this has been discussed, but if the island bunker is able to create massive amounts of magnetic energy wouldn't this be a good way to disrupt a plane's navigation systems and also slow or speed up a planes descent, by reversing polarity?

I saw that too.

It's like the track he's making is drawing a boarder around the wounded on the beach.

OK, a couple of observations:

The radio being charged isn't any stranger than there being electricity in the bunker. Remember, they flipped a switch and lights came on.

Nathan wore a red shirt.

Goodwin's clothing was of the color scheme that the Others seem to be wearing. In fact, in the scene where Ana Lucia was by the stream getting water and Goodwin shows up next to her, for a second I thought it was an Other because of the clothing.

If Ana Lucia noticed on Day 1 that Goodwin's clothes weren't wet and was suspicious of him, why put Nathan through the ringer that whole time. There was no explanation for this.

At the end of last week's episode, when Ana and the others started hearing The Whispers, she yelled "RUN!" Why did we not see/hear that in this week's recap of that scene. It made it look like they simply heard The Whispers, Shannon appeared, and Ana shot her.

I've got to wonder at how weirdly this island is shaped. The tail section landed just off the beach. The fuselage would have continued on after the tail section broke away and would have been many miles further along than the tail section, but the fuselage also landed on a beach. From these two things, you would think that one landed on one side of the island and one landed on the other, with the nose section continuing out into the ocean. However, we know that the nose landed inland on the island, so those three landing positions, considering the speed and direction of travel of the plane don't really match up, or the island is shaped very strangely.

Finally, there is a very insightful discussion between Matt Ausiello of TV Guide and Damon Lindeloff and Carlton Cuse here. It doesn't really spoiler anything specifically, but does lend some insight into the direction of the show and it definitely confirms that Shannon is dead, in case anyone was still speculating.

A possibility:

Assume the island is, very roughly, oval.

Plane breaks into 3 major pieces: tail, middle, and nose.

The tail falls on the "near" side of the island (say, one end of the oval).

The nose takes a "nose dive" inland.

The middle, still having wings and at least 1 running engine attached, "glides" the furthest, landing on the opposite side of the island (opposite end of the oval from the tail).

I just watched the scene with the car again. all I saw was a flash an instant before they cut from the two shot to the shot of A-L. I didn't see it move. Is it possible it's just a reflection of some kind? Granted, I'm rewatching in SD. I deleted it off the HD TiVo.

Another note on Goodwin's shirt. I noted earlier that it was too big for him. In some scenes the shoulders and sleeves are obviously too big, and in others it fits him perfectly. I think we have a small continuity error. Either that or he's changing shirts as they march across the island, which is unlikely.

As someone who's never held a gun, I don't think I'd know where the safety was without inspecting it. And that's after watching a ton of TV

My point was just that everyone in TV shoots guns like it's second nature... the fact that Ana does too doesn't lead me to believe anything.

She also was pretty good with that spear... she must have had javelin training in her past too

My favorite part of that interview:

Quote:
Has Disney approached you about doing a Lost feature film?
Carlton: No.

And if they did, what would your response be?
Damon: I would punch them in the face four or five times as hard as I could. We couldn't even begin to wrap our brains around how we would produce a feature film. Obviously, the production team in Hawaii is amazing, but the amount of time [it would require] to do a TV show and a feature on top of each otherů I think it's safe to say it would be impossible.

OK, that's a joke. But remove the words "in the face four or five times " and the quote returns to its original form.

But, for the batteries in the radio to be charged, there has to have been someone there to charge them recently . That's the interesting part to the viewer. We already knew that the bunkers tapped into and electrical source, so that's not news. What we don't know is who was in the bunker if not an Other or a Them? Was/Is there another "Desmond" around somewhere?

It's still very much in the air as to how many groups there are on the island and how they relate to each other. This radio is a tantalizing clue leading nowhere at the moment, but suggesting a group/individual separate from the Others or Them.

It's possible that that bunker was being used by Them, but I like the idea that it was someone else.
