so we did not get negative padding on our TiVos as it would have been way overused in the meeting implementation

so does it have the FSI backdoor still working I wonder

While the sodas aren't free, they're darn cheap. All of the conference rooms are named after shows (Seinfeld, Friends, etc). Our old training room used to be called "Welcome Back Kotter" but has since been renamed.

New employees have told me that we tend to have "bashes" or events more than they were ever used to.

I'm looking for a pic or two to post, but not sure if I have anything. Gotta hide the oompa loompas first...they're a company secret!

Very good of you to shed some light on the soda situation; cheap soda,eh....is it coke or pepsi products (or do you use brand X)? Do you have the Green Mountain coffee machines? If not, you should...so choice. Who is the real leader of the TiVolution; I believe that TiVo guy is just a puppet and not really leading the revolution. Do you have a TiVo in your cube; if so what do you TiVo and when do you watch it? Don't you hate VCR's?

*waves to Stephen and Jerry*

There happens to be a PDF online from that book with some pictures. TiVo is on the cover and on page 8. The lobby featured on the cover and on the right hand side of page 8 is actually the "old" lobby. The lobby is now in the other building so you won't see it if you happen to visit the offices some day. The other photos on page 8 of the PDF are TiVo Town center (the place for lunch gatherings and company meetings) and one of the infamous cubicles.

Good to see you again, Bill. Those were pretty much the pics I was looking for!

The soda machine is a mix of a number of products, Coke and Pepsi among them. It is my belief that the soda machine may be the true leader of the TiVolution since it is the one serving "the punch" we all drink!

My cube is a bit out of the norm. As I look around, I see 14 DVRs of various makes and models, an old A/V receiver, and 5 televisions to display them all on. Oddly enough, I don't really watch them while working although my cubemates do, so the Season Passes don't match my actual interests. Maybe I'll bring in a camera and pop off a pic to show since I don't do the web cam thing.

Oh, I do have a wall of bezels on the outside of my cube that many find interesting as they pass by.

Cool pics - Are the TVs in the lobby set to specific channels.... and who is the keeper of the remote?

and... are they direct or TiVo'd feeds?

* waves to Bill - HI BILL! *

The sodas are a quarter, but the cappuccinos are free! A caffeinated workforce...moves fast.

Seriously, there's a high-end la Pavoni espresso machine on each floor of both buildings. Very nice, and over the years we've all improved on our barrista skills.

Awesome TiVo face plates!

Does everyone in the office have red battle helmuts?

Hiding your dumb bells under the desk...that's where I keep mine too.

Killer red stapler. You're alright TiVo Jerry.

Hmm, is that the TiVo Network adapter there on top of the stack - and the packaging for it on the shelf above? :-)

So, when are those coming out?

And what is that box on top of the stack, under the adapter? I can't tell if that's a TiVo logo on the front or just some other splash of color. :-)

Uh, oh, now he has to shoot you!

TiVoJerry - nice bezels. Are all of them from models actually shipped, or are some of them "non-production" bezels?

If I am not mistaken, the one in the upper right was a dual unit that sported an 8 track tape recorder.

That was probably before your time.

Some of them are definitely non-production bezels. Probably from test units by the look.

If you had done your homework you would have known that TiVo has no control over the DirecTV boxes. This has been a source of complaint on this forum for years; we even have an online petition asking DirecTV to update to the latest TiVo software, not that they listen to us. DirecTV has kept their TiVos frozen for a long time with absolutely no changes, so it is no use complaining here about it. Go complain to DirecTV.

If you want to complain about the standalones, then and only then should you be talking to TiVo. Personally I have found the constant improvement of the TiVo standalones to be very significant and useful; nevertheless people always find something to complain about. YMMV.

But complaining to TiVo about something that TiVo has no control over, such as DirecTV, is just silly. You're wasting your time here.

While the buildings don't look "cool" they do look like they would be comfortable. I'd say, let TIVO become profitable before they spend money on a fancy headquarters. Also, there have been quite a few innovations on the standalone platform that I've noticed of late. (I'm still bummed that they abandoned the original platform though) So, I'd say TIVO is really burning the midnight oil.
