LOST 11/30 - "What Kate Did"

1 hour to go!!!

I'm proud to say this is the first episode that I have not yet read any spoilers about. (Other than the title of the episode!)

OK, so Michael gets potentially the first communication from the outside world that they've had and he sits down nonchalantly like he's getting ready to chat with someone on MSN or something... doesn't yell to anyone else, "Hey, check this out!! Locke, Eko, someone's trying to communicate!!!"?

The third great episode of the season (I was getting impatient).

Great backstory on Kate. I thought it was an insightful reason that the writers gave Kate for hating and killing Wayne--because of the damage her relationship with him has caused her in her ability to relate to men. (I think it is safe to assume that he did indeed molest her at some point, right?)

We got a little more info on the Dharma project, although nothing we didn't assume--that the computer shouldn't be used to try to contact the outside world.

"This is Michael. Who is this?"
"Dad?"

Loved it.

Now time to rewatch (something I haven't done for an episode recently--::happy:.

AWESOME!!!!!

This was probably my favorite episode this season (possibly except the season opener)..

I liked this episode so much that even the few Anna scenes didn't ruin it!

Loved how Eko told him the story before telling him what was in the book.. Loved Locke's patronizing smile as he opened it.

Good to see confirmation that Sayid did see Walt.

Even more, that Sawyer saw the horse. That's happened enough now that I firmly believe that if someone had been standing with Jack looking in the same direction, that they'd have seen Jack's dad early in Season One when Jack did.

I think it's also much easier to say now that this isn't just some experiment.. (well, after the last scene).. It's not some dumb BASIC program dumping the numbers into the trash can.. it's actually hooked up.

We're gonna get to see an incident!

Eko's reaction when the movie was first showed was great..

Glad they showed Sawyer, Michael, and Jin exploring the hatch for the first time. I'm also so glad that friggin handcuff is off.. I was getting claustrophobia of the wrist.

Great episode...

I must be in the minority, because except for the scenes with Eko, Locke, and the film I was pretty bored. Maybe it is because I really don't care about Kate, and her daddy-murdering ways.

I'm with you, Rose. This episode didn't do much for me. I don't care much for the Kate character and don't have any interest in her storyline. I suppose we were supposed to feel compassion for her and see that she was justified in her actions, but I just didn't get that. Perhaps we will see another flashback that will show more of what an SOB her dad was, but I didn't think it came through in this episode. I understand that there are those who are interested in her character, but this episode felt more like a waste of an hour to me than any other this season.

Now were they trying to make the guy in the background look like Jack when Kate went to meet her "Dad" the military dude? I rewound, and the guy looked liked Jack in a service uniform.

I think I've figured it out:

1) We never saw the plane's first class section
2) There's another bunker with the countdown clock near where the book was found
3) A wealthy clothing maker was in first class

therefore, this person is kidnapping all the kids for cheap child labor to type in the numbers so the adults don't have to!

Hmm, she sure has a funny way of showing it. I mean, she kissed Jack right after it.

So, Walt was not a figment of Shannon's imagination.

The horse was not a figment of Kate's imagination.

Had someone been with Jack at the time, would they also have seen Jack's dad?

Although one could see her motives, Kate is indeed rather cold blooded.

This was a very good episode.

And a high probability for killing someone. Seems like most of the characters have been directly or indirectly responsible for a death.

She kissed Jack, killed her Dad, left the cop for dead, left Sawyer for dead, and didn't put in the code, all after being grabbed.

Anyone else thinking that when the last 50 or 51 minutes left, since Michael messed with it, at that time it will go crazy, blow up and the blast doors will come down, either trapping them in or out or something.

Did anyone catch this from next week's preview...
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Mr. Eko is reciting Psalm 23 and he says "...though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death..."

It's actually the valley of the shadow of death. D'oh!

For those that missed a lttle of what went on:

Desmond left a movie in a silly place
John Locke stayed behind to lend a hand
Anna says to Sayid, boy I’ll shoot your face
And Boone ‘n Shannon are buried in the sand.

Obladi oblada Lost goes on bra
Wednsday evening Lost goes on
Obladi oblada Lost goes on bra
Every Wednsday Lost goes on.

Mike’s email to Walt will blow up the core
Sawyer’s head has begun to ache & ring
King Jack Almighty is really such a bore
And Mr. Eko, finally he begins to sing.

In a couple of weeks they have found
A home sweet home
With a couple of Others running in the yard
Of Jin & Sun Moon Jones.

Hurley thinks the bunker is a market place
Kate is seeing horses on the strand
Charlie stashed some ‘Horse’ in a secret place
And in the evening he thinks he’s with the band.

And if you want some fun-take obladi oblada
.
