How I Met your Mother 12/19/05

I couldn't wait any longer. I thought this was a top rated comedy? Didn't anyone watch it? Cobie looked hot in that blue dress.

Eh. I love this show, but thought this was perhaps the weakest episode yet. It had some very funny moments ("wow....you're...friendly" and the fake Moby for two), but overall it just didn't flow very well.

Robin did look very hot, though.

I agree. Still funny, but not their best episode. Barney was depressed for too much of the episode, and a depressed Barney is not a funny Barney.

Didn't the limo driver play the Oompa Loompa(s) in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory?

Yeah, I was looking forward to this episode after the post-sweeps break, and it was one of the weaker ones yet. Too much of people coming and going - they're best when they're in ensemble mode. And way too much pathos - depressed Barney at the loss of the ultimate mix tape, Ted coming to the realization (DUH!) that he's still in love with Robin . . .

Get back to the funny people! Here, let me get you started. "Hey, have you met Ted?"

Cute episode. As with the other ones I liked, the show ended on a nice note.

I am hoping the rest of the songs in the mix tape find their way into Barney's Blog!

I'm not sure if I was dating Robin I would have been happy with her leaving to kiss another guy. It is still one of my favorite shows. I hope it does well when it moves to its new day and time.

I liked the episode even though it was not up to the show's usual standards...

One question: Was that actually Moby?

Nope. Not Moby was played by J.P. Manoux.

Fun fact: Moby's great-great-great-granduncle is Herman Melville, the author of Moby Dick.

No. Ranjit was played by Marshall Manesh. The Oompa Loompas were played by Deep Roy.

Ditto.

Anyone notice how future Ted indicated that 2006 was going to be a big year? Is it possible that Ted and Robin have a relationship but it doesn't work out? Or that, I don't know, we finally get to meet their mother?

Deep Roy? sounds like a porn-name

Did anybody else notice the picture of Robin's boyfriend showed him in a tux...almost like a wedding photo? Ted also seemed to reallllllly not like the guy.

I happened to notice this while browsing imdb

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Ashley Williams is doing a few episodes in January and February. She's cute and all, but she seems to look as if she's as dumb as rocks when she smiles.

Which character did she play in the previous episode? I know the character name - just can't place her role on that particular episode.

Can't have that. The show would be over once he met their mother.

It was my first time to watch it in HD

Otherwise just an avg episode. Nothing made it stand out. Except Robin looking hot as usual.

Yes, but I do think the Bob Saget bits with the kids will be quietly dropped.

I think if they had done them for the first show and then they were gone - noone would miss them. I wouldnt.

A voice over the regular characters would be fine. But the intro with the "so kids, blahblahblah" is boring and wastes time the show could be focusing on Barney or similar.

Didn't they skip this into the episode before this?
(Or am I merely suppressing any memory of it?)

I seem to recall reading that they'd planned to introduce the mother during February or May sweeps.

If it is in February, maybe it's Ashley Williams (who was in Good Morning, Miami)?

.

They sure are draggint eh whole Ted/Robin thing out. He sure seems to like her and he even said Robin with a certain accent to his kids so it almost seems like he still has a thing for her. Heck, maybe he meets her mom, they both realize they love other people after a few years and Robin is their stepmother? Maybe their mother marries Barney.

Oh, I hope not. She's extrememly cute but I just feel stupider after having watched her inane smiling for more than a few minutes.

In the year 2030, polygamy will be legal.

This is the simplest explanation.

I guess the kids would know their mother's name so it would be safe to assume that Robin is not their mother (I'm very smart, in case you're wondering!)...

but seriously...Robin is super-hot...but she looked kind of masculine walking away from him after the kiss...she looked like a guy in a dress!
