SD-DVR40 and H20: On Same TV??

I currently have an SD-DVR40 recorder with Tivo with 2 coax satellite lines connected to it.

I wanted to upgrade to HD, but I could not afford to get the HR10-250, so I opted for the H20, standard HD Reciever (no DVR).

Is there a way to use both devices for the same television? I was thinking I could use one coax for the DVR and the second line to the H20....will that work?

Yes, you can use one satellite coax for the H20 and one for the SD-DVR40. You will, of course, lose the dual tuner features of the SD-DVR40, and you'll need to repeat Guided Setup on that DVR to tell it that you now have just one satellite connection.

What type of dish do you have? If you have an 18" round single LNB dual output dish, you'll miss out on many of DirecTV's HiDef channels because that dish only "sees" one satellite. If you have an oval dish with 3 LNBs and four outputs, you should be able to run another coax cable from the dish so that your DVR still can use both tuners.

R10 80GB (v6.1-01)
Sony SAT-A4, B4 Receivers
